HW#2 B

Electoral College

1. What is it?
is not a real college but instead is a group of people that are not there to study or anything but instead they see the votes of the people and they decide who is president
2. How does it work?
it works as I said before it is to choose who is president. the electetoral college is divided so that there is equal representation they have the de number of senators from representatives in the house of represemtative one for each.
3. Is there anything that seems unfair about it? it is to some extent unfair because it if a person runs for president and he wins on a popularity vote he may not be the president the electoral college can still pick another person as the president that would mean that our vote doesn't count.

HW#1 (MP 2)

1. Write 2 paragraphs that describes how a bill becomes a law.

A bill is made on people in a state think is needed than they ask some one to introduce the bill to the congress. a local congress man proposes the bil to the congress or introduce. after that the congress think of the bill and if it is good if it is accepted the bill will then be send to the house o representatives where they will look at it and decide if it is good or if it isn't. after it passes the house of representatives it is then send to the senate and check by the. the bill could be refuse and die before been make a aw. after the bill is accepted and edited by most then it goes to the same prosses as before.

By going to the same process as before i mean that it gpes back to see if the changes that were made were accepted and if not than it keeps going back and for until it is accepted or it dies.if the bill is accepted then is then send to the executive brach so that the presidebt can sign or veto it if the president aproves then it becomes law but if he veto then the prosess is over.

Topic: a lot of houses are clousing and the government is worry about it

Article title: The Foreclosure Crises

summary:
This article is basically about how people can't pay their mortgages and do to that their losing their houses and so the article talks about how the government should do something to help the government in the article or as the article says is doing nothing but instead if they are doing something is protecting the back and siding with them.

Reaction:
I personally think that this matter is a serious one and that we should focus more on it or better said the government should look at it and try to fix it. more and more people in the united states are losing their house and it looks bad on the country

World impact:
I belive that this affects the world in that the people from other country may see this and think of americas mad ecconomy at the time as a big deal and so they are more likely not to want to come here and this proble affects the world in showing that america is weakening and that it people are losing their land.

Current Event # 4

Topic: It is about Homosexuality been accepted in the army.

Article Title: Don't Ask Policy Won't Be Missed

Summary:
This article is basically anout the "Don't ask, Don't Tell" policy on the army as the tittle sais and to presented better. the policy that does not accept Homosexual in the army this article talksbout how this is unfair because some other countries do have gay/ Homosexual crew on hand and how the united states should be ashame because they don't and it also talks about how it goes a gains their freedom of speach and rights.

Reaction:
I Think i put my self or agree with the article because if there are other countries that have had homosexual people in their army and they have not had any changes then it is a question of moral. and as i read in the article "You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight."
also i think that is this is approve that it may bring the united states more power or at least more members more crew.

World impact:
I think that this affects the world in that if it is approve it could be helpful for homosexuals to get a better treatment in society and it may as well prove that the United States Is a nation that respects its people and that it is by the people and for the people.

Topic : Unemployment and transportation

Article Title: Why is Obama afraid of a new New Deal?

Summary: The government is divided because of the new New Deal meaning the new programs that the government it trying to make. however obama does not want this changes and most of the tax paying citizens either.

Reaction:

To me personally i believe that they should go on with The new Deal becaose right now there are a lot of people unemployed and some are in search of help form the government and if it is necessary fo the program to run before things getting better. however this event does not affect me what so ever or that is I think it may affect me in the future but for now am not sure.

World Impact:
Althought this event does not affect me it those affect the world or mostly the united states. with a 9.6 and rising % unmployment rate the united states is in chock and it is in one of the worst positions. also because of this the migration rate it is bound to drop too because if other country see the united states as not better as they are they aren't to migrate.

Why is bag searching ACCORDING to the US Supreme Court legal, even though it seems to go against the 4th amendment? Do you agree or disagree with police stopping you and recording your name to a date base? DO you think this stops crime? Post your answers to your blog and write in complete sentences, no less then 8 sentences.

the frisks as their call ar alloed by the constitution because the Fourth Amendment does permit searches and seizures that are considered reasonable. In practice, this means that the police may override your privacy concerns and conduct a search of your home, barn, car, boat, office, personal or business documents, bank account records, trash barrel, or whatever, if:
•the police have probable cause to believe they can find evidence that you committed a crime, and a judge issues a search warrant, or
•the particular circumstances justify the search without a warrant first being issued.

Or so The page i Found this is herehttp://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/article-30183.html

This contradiction in the four ammendment might make people angry or so but for me personally i believe that it it is necesary a searsh then is ok I don't like that they could searsh over stupid stuff and almost nothing is stoping them put i believe that is does keep us safe in the long run or it could stop crime. if there is going to be an attack on a traing or so this frisks might help.

Why would congress amend the US Constitution? How do you Amend the Constitution?

The reason why the congress o=would amend the constitution is to created ne laws with the amendments.

to amend the constitution there are two ways one is for a bill to pass both houses of the legislature and atkeast 2/3 majority in each. After the bill has passed both houses, it goes to the states.

the other way is for a Constitutional Convention to be called by at least 2/3 of the legislatures of the States, and for that Convention to propose one or more amendments. the amendments are then sent to the states to be approved by atleast 3/4 of the legislatures or conventions.

Homework # 8

Write one parograph to this question:
In your opinion was independence the only option for the colonist? could they have worked things out with the king?

In my opinion independence was the only option the colonist had I know that people may say "you can always work things out" However I dont believe that people can work thing out but only with patience and a person that listence to you and well, A king is a king no mmatter how hard the poeple may try if the king decides to do something he will do it and well if the king king is a stubborn one. The colonist or the sons of liberty had a problem with the king. but most of all they had problems with the acts and the rules and laws that the king impose upon them.

Homework # 7

Write 2 Paragraphs answering the following questions:
Do you think Direct democracy could work in the United States? why or why not? Do you think representative democracy is working in America today? If America was a direct democracy how would people react towards government? what would live be like? What is the perfect government for you?

I personaly think that Direct democracy can't work on the United States because the united states is over populated and because people are not the most average people are not very smart. To explain the United States is full of people and in a direct democracy people are the ones that actually decide for the laws. In the United States there are over 308 Million people just imagen how long it would take for a law to be pass also because average people don't think thing and they would vote for stupid things also if it was a decition for everybody to make there would mostlikely be chaos because people are nasty beens we are racist and selfish creatures so only a few should govern and look out for the rest.

So far I think that the representative democracy in The United States is working because only the elite are choosen and are allowed to rule representatives although humans themselves and selfish they are the best suited and for that reason I believe that they can make a change and make the country better. although from my point of view there is no thing as a perfect government however I Believe that the representative democracy is a great type of government because the powers are share among the choosen few who are smart enough of best suited to rule.

Homework # 6

We have studied Thomas Hobbes and John Locke's philosophical ideas; in 1 paragraph write down which philosophical idea, gives the best reasons why humans agree to a social contract.

I choose John locke's ideas because I to some agree with him in that every body is equal and that we have natural rights or the phrase in the American Declaration of Independence; "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Locke thought that the government should have a separation of power. John Locke's conception of the social contract differed from Thomas Hobbes in some way but they agreed in some the people when with something in common can created a state and that to protect their life, liberty and rights and that to do so they can can have a neutral state.
